CALIFORNIA GROOMER ALERT  ! ! ! ! !  A CALL TO ACTION ! ! ! !

OPPOSITION TO SB969

OPPOSE THE CALIFORNIA STATE REGULATION OF PEOPLE IN THE GROOMING TRADE !

PLEASE READ!!!!!

This bill is poorly written and not in the best interest of the grooming industry and the pets we serve!

This bill is unfair and will cost you and your customers more money!

This bill will cause restraint of trade!

You will be regulated by a committee that knows nothing about your industry and you will be paying them to do it!

If you are already certified by NDGAA, IPG or ISCC you will not be able to advertise that title!

THIS BILL IS IN THE SENATE NOW AND WILL BE VOTED ON AS EARLY AS TUESDAY, MAY 29!

ACT TODAY! Tomorrow may be too late!!!

GO TO THE ABOVE LINK TO SEND YOUR LETTER OPPOSING SB969 PET GROOMERS. Bu putting in your name and address the letter will go directly to your California State Senator. This has been possible with the help of the National Animal Interest Alliance (NAIA) and we thank them for their help and guidance.

Things are happening VERY FAST with this bill!!! We need 100% of California professional groomers to call or e-mail your senator.

Share this with groomers across the country, BUT ONLY CALIFORNIA GROOMERS SHOULD SUBMIT THE LETTER VIA THIS LINK AS THE LEGISLATORS FILTER OUT MAIL FROM OTHER AREAS OF THE COUNTRY.

PLEASE DO THIS NOW!!! THE JOB YOU SAVE COULD BE YOUR OWN!

Did you hear the misleading very first statement ?

"...Remove the Voluntary certification program from the Veterinarian Medicine Practice Act but instead codify it to the Health and Safety Code.

Don't be fooled by the narrative. Sounds good but the State cannot certify only License.
Only a Professional Organization like IPG, NDGAA, ISCCA can Certify and that is voluntary.
The narrative may lead some to think voluntary certification will be being done by these certification associations thus recognized by the State , but that is not true!

Is the State that confident that Certified Association groomers and non certified groomers are so dumb that we will buy State required voluntary certification!

More of us are not certified than are certified. So many more of us would not submit to the State requiring us to be certified by any of the above mentioned associations.
No disrespect toward the associations.

Attention California Groomers!

SB969 is hitting the Assembly Committee on Business, Professions & Consumer Protection on Tuesday. WE NEED YOU TO CALL ALL OF THE PEOPLE ON THE COMMITTEE AND REGISTER IN OPPOSITION TO THIS BILL!

We have written a short script on what to say when you call to keep your view simple and to the point, which is want they want.

The committee meets on Tuesday. PLEASE CALL NOW! TOMORROW MAY BE TOO LATE!
____________________________________________

My name is ********. (If applicable state that “I am a professional pet groomer and California businessperson.”)

I know that Assembly person ******** is on the Committee on Business, Professions & Consumer Protection that will be meeting on Tuesday, June 19.

I would like to register in opposition and respectfully request your unbiased NO vote on SB969 next Tuesday.

This bill is emotionally fueled, poorly constructed and even though amended a number of times, still needs to be scrapped.
