Such an un-professional attitude toward an employee. Maybe a couple of you should start bathing dogs again!

Unbelievable!  how you people are so disrespectful toward others and each other  and I am not meaning just this topic.

A little military service or maybe some jail time would cure that!

Dude  why go with a big drawn out name when you can call it what it IS.. A bather is just that... a BATHER.. She/He bathes dogs.. Im a Groomer.. not a Canine Beauty Technician... Geeez...

Not that any "bather" (Companion Animal Hygienist) worth their salt needs me to defend them, but a "bather is not "just a bather" any more that a "groomer" is "just a groomer" and an experienced professional would know that!

Grooming does not start and end with trimming hair. The bath, the brushing, the hair trimming, the styling, nails, etc. it's all part of grooming so all are (groomers?)

Or are you one of those that sits on your fat behind at a grooming table, just finishing a pet dog prepared for you by the hard work of someone else. Calling all those that do this work, just bathers and denying them recognition shows a lack of respect. If putting others and hard working support staff down is the only way "groomers" can make themselves appear special, then that is very unprofessional.

Now to defend people like "Sandy", not that she needs anyone defending her either but, Sandy does not "just groom" dogs anymore than a bather just baths. To limit her to being called "just a groomer?" or a bather as (just a bather?) does not recognized Sandy as a "Creative Canine Stylist" nor does it recognized the skills of a bather.

I will never be a "Creative Canine Stylist" as Sandy, nor do I want to be. That is not what I do, but my respect for her is because she also grooms the family pet.

"Pet grooming care professionals" need to get over themselves and start respecting and recognizing each others worth.

Belittling a bather as "just a bather" even if that is all that person does (no drying/brushing etc) is just disrespectful and unprofessional.

Suggesting a (bather?) look for another job is a sign of professional insecurity when a (bather?) just is asking for a little respectful recognition.

Blather!

Do you have comprehension problems reading "knot" ?

Sandy was not being DISrespectful toward her bather in telling of the bathers request. I have no problem with Sandy, it is the others that put down her bather that I have the real problem with.

I was responding to darkelf and the others not you knot!

I have read some of your posts "knot" you definitely need to get over yourself!

i have to agree with dude on this one.... i tell bathers they have the HARDEST job in the industry.... and there job is what makes or breaks a good haircut in MY shop, i don't care who u are... u can't put a good haircut on a dog if it's not bathed properly... i couldn't survive without my bathers!  i used to be a bather(most of us start there) and man, that was hard work!

Thanks setters

I am still there, I am doing both bathing and grooms. Everything start to finish!

Those that I train to work for me are expected to do it all also. No differences in my shop.  Bathing is just part of the grooming process. All do complete grooms, that's how they earn their commision percentage of old and new shop accounts! But that's for another topic.

Creative Canine Stylist To Creative Canine Stylist.....

NAH

I like Groomer to Groomer Better.

I live in hick-town,  I already have a large number of people that ask me what a Groomer is, I really dont want to have to explain to them what a Canine Stylist does!
