Hello,

I work for a vet and we need to get a new grooming table arm for my table.  My vet wants me to get a durable quality arm and I was wondering if any of you can give me suggestions as to what to buy.  I know the Groomer's Helper is probably the one we should go with, but I don't think my vet will like the price.  I have been looking at Tableworks' Folding Arm for large and medium dogs as well as Master Equipment's Folding Arm.  What do you experienced groomers think of these two products?  Would you recommend something else?

Thank you for your help.

Ijust picked myself up the groomers helper arm, and I love it - no more wiggling the arm to get it to slide up and down - it's great..  Light weight, and the base is a nice med sized square (less likely for a dog to snap the end off the table).  Well worth the 140 dollars!  and of course the groomers helper, itself is also very much worth having..

The LIPS stainless system is probably the most versatile and durable arm you can find, plus you are really getting two arms + other features for the price - and it will last forever.

Other than that, I have found that the round tubular steel  on regular arms seem to hold up better compared to the square tubular arms that develop weak spots on the lower two corners of the tube and bend under pressure. The round pipe seems to distribute the pressure more evenly around the "pipe"...

Valley, where did you find a groomer's helper for $140, at a show?  The Groomer's Helper website advertises it for $250.00.  ail, thank you for telling me about the round tube steel as opposed to the square tubular arm.  That is good to know.

I use an overhead grooming arm that I suppose is a knockoff of the LIPS system.  It runs about $50, has two posts to attach to both ends of your table with an overhead bar that connects the two of them over your table.  There are eyehooks for slings or nooses to prevent the dogs from spinning and turning around on you.  Great for biters.

I have not used the Groomer's Helper, but if your vet will go for it, pretty much everyone loves it.

That's the same one we have, all four of our tables is equiped with one.  I think it's actually $46.99 or something like that.  It's a huge help on nail trims.  The entrance door is to the front left of my grooming table and the dogs naturally want to stand facing that direction, which is fine for the groom, but for the nt, I need to have them facing to the right of me.  The way I hold them when I trim front nails is no problem, but when I go to do the back nails, they want to turn around and face the left, which doesn't allow me the proper, safe angle to cut the nails.  I just hook them to the left post and they can only turn so far, then I can hold the back foot and cut nails without struggling with them at all and I can cut from a comfortable position.  I could never go back to a single grooming post.  LOL.

Dear Groomers,

Let me put and end to the controversy. Round stock is cheaper then square stock. Round swivels. Square holds solid.

Our 1" Stainless Steel Square Arms are $119.95 with the clamp or $99.95 when purchased with the Groomers Helper and has the only steel "locking clamp" in the industry.

It will not allow the arm to fall on your or your dogs head as it has spring steel holding it in place. It has a rubber table cover to protect your table top. We have a clamp that will fit any table up to 3 1/2" thick.

It is Guaranteed for Life and Guaranteed never to bend or we will replace it at no charge to you.

Check it out at our site.
