How do these products work? I mean what's in them that makes the pets dry faster? I use Quick Dry McGraw and it really cuts drying time.

I have no idea how they work but we just got in the Speed Dry from Show Season, and I have no idea how I've lived w/out it.  Friday I did a Cocker and granted there was a preclip, but still had the whole dog dry in 15 mins!!

I'm worried about what kind of chemical creates a situation where you can dry a cocker in 15 minutes!!!
The only thing I know of that is a liquid but dries is alchohol.  But that would be super-harsh on a dog's skin.  Surely it is not that?  Anyone use these products notice what the dog's skin is like long-term?

We've only been using it a few months but have had dogs come back in since using it and their skin was fine.  It actually conditions the coat.  Like I said there was a preclip involved in that 15 mins (#5).  15 mins is not always the case but I was happy about it.  And since the Cocker was old I'm sure he appreciated it too.

SPCA, I had the same fear. I have a gallon of davis quick dry shampoo. I have only used it a few times mixed with regular shampoo because of this fear. I actually used it yesterday on a samoyed ans two long haired gsd because it was rainy and the humidity inside was awful.Ill have to wait and see if it is drying to the skin. I have not used it on anything that does not already have perfectly healthy skin.

I use the Davis stuff ALL THE TIME! Love it!!!
I have never noticed any problems. I'm sure you could call Davis and ask em! As I think I understand it the shampoo makes it so the water can not cling to the hair... But I can't tell you in any scientific way...

It's not designed for it, but I find that dogs bathed in the Furminator Shampoo dry SUPER fast. I work out of an Animal Hosptial that insists on using the DVM shampoos only, so it is a personal out of pocket expense, but so worth it!!
