We are looking to expand our "add on services" to our grooming menu such as tooth brushing, nail painting, facials, massage, deshedding.  Anyone had any other ideas? What has worked for you?  Right now we offer dremel as an add on.  Thanks in advance!  --Leslie

Those all sound good.  We also offer a paw and pad treatment, using the Spa Lavish line.  I have heard others have had great success with using warm olive oil for the pads, too.
We have an "a-la-carte" grooming menu - any of the below items are $7 to $10, depending on the dog:
Ear cleaning
Nail trim
Anal glands
Tidy the face

A sanitary trim is $15; and we offer an "Express Groom"  ("Our best value at $20").  That includes nails trimmed, paws tidied up, ears cleaned, tidy the face and a quick brush (no dematting, no bath).  I throw in a sanitary for longer haired dogs.

Good luck!

I like your "a-la-carte" menu idea. That's pretty neat, but are your ear cleaning, nail trims, and anal glands not included in your regular grooms? Or do you mean if someone calls JUST for ear cleaning or JUST for anal glands or JUST for nail trims, is this how your a-la-carte works?  I like your express grooms idea also.

Yes, that's right - if someone says, well I just need her face tidied, or just her anals, or what have you.
We decided to do the express grooming as like a "Level 1"; B&B is level 2; and of course Full Groom is level 3.
It has been working fairly well for us -we've had a HUGE response to the coupons we had out this year for one free express grooming.  And, many of those are now regular clients, after seeing how we handle their dog(s)!

I like the express groom idea..i'm gonna implement that because if some people cant really afford the full groom so often at least they are still coming in for something..Thanks karen

Gosh, you could do express grooms all day and make a ton of money.

I'm not much for add ons, however, an additional service we offer is photography.  I set up a backdrop and change it periodically.  People love it.  I offer pics after their groom, so they are fresh and clean.  Then people just look at the pics on the computer and decide how many poses, what sizes, etc.....I have prices based on packages and also per individual prints.  I let them mix and match various poses within a package.  Even if they just get one 5X7, it's pretty good profit....and fun, too.

I offer Hot Oil Treatments and Mud Wraps. I include Blueberry Facial and Paw Treatments in all of my grooming packages and also if they want to color the ears that's an add on.
A lot of groomers here dont even have Hot Oil or Mud Wraps

Ive been doin the PlaqClnz treatment by Smart Practice.  It is so easy and its a fast $30.  I charge ten for the service with a groom and then $20 for the take-home bottle of gel.  My clients love it and i have seen awesome results!

Yah, we had a Shih Tzu surrendered to the shelter last month - she needed a dental, so we took her to the vet 2 or 3 wks ago for it.  She crashed under anesthetic - they just barely brought her back!!!  The new owner was given dental food and STRICT instructions NOT to have her sedated again.

i like the idea of doing blow pen tattoos on pups for like 5 bucks. like....a green christmas tree or a dolphin. they wash right out too.

bows! i dont know about you guys but around here we take football very seriously..so my clients that walk in wearing game apparel on game day usually get bows wit the teams colors. you could make some easy bows with little football beads in them. or christmas bows with tiny jingle bells.

i know its not expensive add ons but if u take a day u can make a bunch and it could add up

Ha Ha...After I re read what I wrote I have to agree.  To my credit I am an outside the box thinker!  I just hope that some other groomers are inspired to try some new things to increase their own revenue!  The big box stores whole focus is getting people to spend as much as possible while shopping...I just want people comming back!
