Hey rubyslippers,

I found a product recommended by all our local vets for dental issues, brown tartered up teeth, that is inexpensive an non-evasive.  It's called "Suzie's Tarter Liquid" http://www.suziestarterliquid.com  Check it out!   I'm using it on my lil dog with big breath and wish I'd done it sooner!

Thanks for the definition on "Swans neck", never heard it called that, we just say "blend the topknot into the neck"...

about that pom tail. I have trouble with that too, but I think its because most poodle pets dont have the best hair or the correct length of tail. It is ten times harder to make a pom tail out of wispy thin hair with no natural curl on a 2 inch nub. I have even had to make a tail on a min poo that had no tail at all! I made a little rosette where the tail would normally be.
I used to beat myself up all the time about my tails until I realized it wasnt me, it was the crappy hair on the poodle. You just have to do the best you can with what you have.
The best tool I have for practicing is my friend that does poodle rescue. She currently has 7 poodles of various sizes that she owns/fosters. I give her a big discount because she brings me so many dogs and sends me a lot of business and I get creative license with her dogs. She is also letting me use them to train my new groomer. I help out her pocketbook and she helps me become a better groomer. Its a win win situation.

Lovetolope, what did you do, copy mine?  I noticed how you priced your grooms and your wording is exactly the same as mine.  That's cheating!

The best wording for prices i ever saw was a UK groomer..it was soooo funny. I need to find it again and post it. She was meaning to be funny but also serious and it was just really well said.

Yes, it is copied luvtolope. And unfortunately, that stuff is all copyrighted.  We have both worked long and hard on our websites and do not appreciate plagerism, it is not flattery.  Could you please come up with your own unique and funny terms ASAP.  We would really appreciate it.  Thanks a million!

topknot3 I did get it from your website but I changed it to my prices and changed it around a bit to fit me and my salon. I believe I changed some wording and maybe added or removed some dogs. I think it is hilarious and I dont want to upset you or anything. I would hope you would take it as a compliment that I really liked it and though it was a great way to convey our pricing guidlines to owners in a way they might understand. We are nowhere near close enough to be competitors so I really hope it doesnt offend you. If you would like I would be more than happy to give you credit on my website.

Got to be careful with anything that could be perceived as copyright infringement, I'm afraid.

By the way, I LOVE your arrangement with the poodle rescue - what a fantastic way to get all the practice you want/need!  Sounds like a great arrangement - I'm a bit jelous!

The work with the poodle rescue is awesome! Its awesome to see the transformation in these guys too. Plus she tips me REALLY good so it really makes up for the discount she gets. Plus I feel good helping her since she helps the dogs.
Now my new groomer will be practicing on them (and my own poodles  ) and that helps me too.
