I love the beads....too time consuming for me to give as freebies, but they are adorable.  I always usually give really nice bows that I make, they have tulle behind the bow and a cute center.  I made this one lady's dog have a bow that had a little dog-house in the center.  She told me on this most recent groom that the other bow had a POINTY dog house in the center and she IMMEDIATELY removed it from her dog....she thought I needed to know this so I don't accidently kill someone elses dog.  OMG, she has been coming to me for years and all of a sudden got really talkative.  She said that she doesn't tip and with 2 DOGS, I better not expect her to start now.  (I was telling her how much more tips my daughter the cat groomer get than me) and so she says that about tipping.  She is always so quiet.....I can imagine if I gave her the cute scarf with all the beads that I spent time making for her to dogs....I think she'd throw it at me and say  "What are you trying to do?  Choke my dogs?"

Hm mm...interesting perspective.  Actually adding the beads is quick but what I find is that it is unique enough that once the dog leaves others want to know where they got the scarf.  Free advertising for me. They call and book..... I guess I'm looking to make the dogs more distinctive.

a bag o beads in the craft section runs under $5 and I get tons all in colors or clear.

Actually the beads are threaded on and then the ends are knotted to keep them from coming off.  I cut the ends at a slant to make the beads easy to apply.  The fabric is folded in half and I cut just the width of the neck.  Then I trim the ends and get two scarfs for each cut....Med size dogs...Once for large and in thirds for little dogs.  I don't have measurements. I eyeball it and try not to waste to much fabric.  I tie it loosely around the neck in a knot that the entire thing can be lifted off the dog.  It is never tight.

I have made them with two colors...say pink and white then I don't add the beads but I know the ends for a more finished look....I have even tried braiding the ends....or just cut smaller fringe on the end and the two tone effect is cute.

You can cut the fabric with Pinking shears and that gives it a different look and feel!

I just bought some very heavy flannel but it might be something else.  Its the same color woven on both sides so maybe its NOT flannel.  But its PLAID beiges and browns and creams with gold metalic thru it.  It cuts so nice and it makes adorable scarves.  Its time to start making more glamourous holiday type bows.  That's what I'll be doing all day Sunday on my day off.
